Michael W. Mann, M.D.
Dr. Mann is a pioneer physician in the Bulverde/Spring Branch area, having started his practice in 1996. Family Medicine has been his love since graduating from Medical School in 1993. He attended the University of Texas Health Science Center Medical School in San Antonio after a 17 year career in public education and continued his training at the same institution throughout his residency in Family Medicine. He says, “The spark of becoming a physician was ignited as a youth in the 5th grade and smoldered through the years until I made the decision to pursue it in 1982”. His philosophy is based in providing Quality of Life, not just quantity of life and feels that the real key to quality of life is preventing disease, not just curing it. In addition to his work as primary care to several thousand of our neighbors, he is the medical director of Southern Care Hospice and the medical director of a female adolescent shelter in Comal County. One of his most endearing projects was his donation of 27 days of the year to the Comal Independent School District over the past 15 years. He provided instruction to 6th, 7th, 8th grade students as well as High School students, teaching concepts of “Worth the Wait”. It is an abstinence based sex education program developed at Scott and White in the middle 1990’s. Mann genuinely believes that his students TRULY ARE Worth-the-Wait! He is married to Manie Mann, his life partner for the past 50+ years. They have 2 successful sons, both married and each having 2 grandchildren for the Dr. Mann Clan. They have resided in Spring Branch since 1982 upon returning from Uvalde, Texas where Mann was a school administrator.
